A WATCHMAN NEEDS FELLOWSHIP

Leading Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:9 

• A piece of wood cannot light fire on its on, you need pieces of wood joined together in order to light the fire.
• That’s why a watchman needs fellowship with others.

WHAT IS FELLOWSHIP?

• Friendly relationship through sharing or doing things together.
• 1 Corinthians 1:9 it says; “God is faithful by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
• God has called you into fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ, you need to fellowship with Jesus.

WHAT ARE THE BASICS OF FELLOWSHIP?

1. PRESENCE OF CHRIST.

• In Mathews 18:20 the word of God says; “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, am I in the midst of them.”
• The Lord doesn’t want you to fellowship alone, He wants you to be where two or more gathering in His name and Jesus will be there with you.
• Jesus promised, “where two or three are gathered in my name there I will be with them!”

2. WATCHMAN NEEDS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.

• In ‘1 John 1:3’ word of God says; That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His son Jesus Christ.
• As human beings our chief aim of living or dwelling in this planet earth is to please God and to fellowship with Him.
• If you are not fellowshipping with God, you are fellowshipping with the world e.g. people put their whole fear on witch(native) doctors and hence pleasing them.

THE IMPORTANCES OF A WATCHMAN TO BE FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHERS.

• Psalms 133:2-3 it says; “It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon and as the dew that descended upon the mountain of Zion for there the Lord commanded the blessings even if life for evermore.”
• We receive a portion of blessings because of fellowship with others; You get blessings because of fellowshipping with others.
• ‘Galatians 6:2’ it says; “bear ye one another burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” As such, some people are there to help you carry your burdens because of fellowship.
• We need to be in fellowship because we need to carry each other’s burdens.
• The Bible in Hebrews 10:25 says; “. . . not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is: but exhorting one another and so much the more as ye see the day approaching.” In fellowship, we are able to exhort each other.

Therefore, it is important for a watchman to be in fellowship with others!!!!!!
